“It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little; do something.” — Sydney Smith

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” — Mother Teresa

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.” — Mother Teresa 1

“Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things, I am tempted to think there are no little things.” — Bruce Barton

If something feels too hard to start, it just means the first step isn’t small enough.

Anything above zero compounds positively

  • One doesn’t seem like much, but it’s something real. At zero, you’re still dreaming.
  • Two is twice as good as one, but one is infinitely better than zero.

Start with the 2-minute version of the task you are procrastinating

  • If it’s a report: Open the document and type the title.
  • If it’s a workout: Put on your sneakers and stand outside.
  • If it’s an intimidating email: Write the subject line and the greeting.
  • If it’s a messy room: Clear off one small surface.

The 2-minute version isn’t about progress; it’s about breaking the seal of inertia. Shrink the task until the resistance vanishes.

  • You’re always 5 good minutes away from feeling better.
    • 5 minutes of exercise—your energy shifts.
    • 5 minutes of writing—your mind clears.
    • 5 minutes of reading—your perspective changes.
    • 5 minutes of breathwork—your body resets.
    • 5 minutes of conversation—your mood improves.
  • Whenever the day feels overwhelming and tough, try to ask yourself: What’s the best way I can spend my next 5 minutes?
  • 5 minutes of present energy is worth more than an hour of scattered energy.

  • If you’re having trouble sticking to a new habit, try a miniature (2-minute) version until it becomes automatic.
  • Take tiny baby steps. Do less than you’re capable of, but do it more consistently than you have before.
  • 不靠衝勁,靠低門檻 開始

千里之行,始於足下。

  • Running one mile has more in common with running a marathon than sitting at home.
  • Investing $100 has more in common with being a millionaire than being broke.
  • Writing one sentence has more in common with writing a book than never writing one.

Every race starts with one step. Every fortune starts with a small deposit. Every book begins as one sentence.

“You can lose yourself one small compromise at a time. You can transform yourself one small win at a time.” — James Clear

Do one rep of something that takes you out of your comfort zone every single day. Harness the power of small wins.
